Google Chrome’s Zero-Day Vulnerability – Update Immediately!

Google Chrome’s recent Zero-day vulnerability is a serious one. Thankfully, google promptly patched this vulnerability for Android, Chrome OS, Linux, Mac, and Windows! Below are the versions you want on your respective devices.

  • Android: v72.0.3626.121
  • Chrome OS: v72.0.3626.122
  • Linux, Mac, and Windows: v72.0.3626.121

Zero-day attacks are not a trivial matter. These are serious exploits because they enter the wild without a patch to fix the vulnerability and are often undetected until used. These attacks are most effective when exploited in a timely manner…and they can be devastating.

This specific vulnerability (CVE-2019-5786) affects the browser through the FileReader API.  Other than that, google has not released much information about it.
